My second Hawaii State Title, this time in the Boys 14 – 15 Division, super stoked to say the least. Always really tough competition with many National Champs involved in the mix. Nationals is next.

Sweet weekend at WSL Turtle Bay

NSSA Regionals & Ian Walsh Mayhem report (1st Place)

Nssa Regional Championships at Kewalos during Spring Break, was the usual grueling 3 day event in 1-3 foot surf. I surfed the Explorer Menenune and Open Boys divisions. In Explorer menehune I exited with a 4th place in the semi-finals. In Open boys, I got first in my first heat and third in the semis. In finals I finished 5th. I wish I could have done better in the finals, but I was stoked to be the only Maui Kid in Open Boys final. Then it was pack our board bags, and head back to Maui the same day, for another 5am wake up call to participate in the 2014 Ian Walsh Menehune Mayhem at Ho’okipa. Super fun contest.

My division was Boys 10-11. I got first in my first heat, and went straight to finals late in the afternoon. My Dad said finals was amazing to watch with all my friends ripping  in some big unruly Ho’okipa surf. We even ventured out to middles where I scored a nice left. I think that left pushed me into first. I was so stoked to get first and  defend my title in that division, but congrats to Jack, Axel, Tony, Kai and Connor who were all ripping.
